A Little Bit About Me

Hi. I'm Kyla.

I help brands envision and realize more innovative futures.

I got here by way of marine biology adventures and a quick stint in the legal field. What I do now is neither as thrilling as studying sharks in the wild (true story) or as black and white as legal procedures (snooze-fest, sorry lawyers), but it satisfies my innate curiosity about people and the world and my creative instincts around problem-solving. My winding past means I am comfortable navigating the complex, trained to connect disparate dots and fearless about asking and confronting hard questions.

Today, my specialty is building meaningful and influential brands—both from scratch and from existing equities. I do that by using human truth and understanding to make good ideas sticky, and by reframing business or technology opportunities into compelling propositions for the people they're designed for. My output depends on the situation—sometimes it means bringing a new brand into the world, sometimes it means redefining the business a company is really in, and sometimes it means making impact first through an internal cultural change. I believe this sets me up to add immediate value at a big brand or a growing start-up facing complex business challenges or pursuing new opportunities.

Oh, my other life's work is finding the world's best burger.
